3 ways to get the most out of the Echo Dot Kids Edition:

#1. Access tons of awesome, kid-friendly content FREE for a year

The Echo Dot Kids Edition includes one year of FreeTime Unlimited -- so your kids can enjoy over 1,000 Audible books, games, movies, TV shows, educational apps, ad-free radio and more. Once you've opted in (follow easy set-up below), just say “Alexa, open Disney Dance Floor” or “Alexa, please read me a story."

Set it up now (1 min or less): Open your Alexa app > tap “Devices” on the bottom navigation bar > tap “Echo & Alexa” at the top > tap your child’s Echo device > scroll down and tap “FreeTime” > turn toggle on to enable > tap “Setup Amazon FreeTime” button > enter your child’s name and birthday > tap “Add Child” button > tap “Continue” > enter your Amazon password > follow the prompts to complete activation.

#2 Help your kids learn about the world with flash briefings and podcasts designed just for them

Ask “Alexa, what’s the news?” for daily educational updates from National Geographic and News-O-Matic. There’s also an array of age-appropriate podcasts like Wow in the World, Story Pirates and But Why. To listen, say “Alexa, play (insert podcast title) podcast."

Pro Tip: You can also use your Parent Dashboard to share flash briefings like Word of the Day with your children.

#3. Keep close tabs on your kids' privacy settings and usage with parental controls

Privacy is paramount, especially when it comes to the privacy of your children. Check out the Privacy Hub to review privacy settings and delete Alexa recordings if you wish. Go to your Parent Dashboard to enter time limits, curate skills, block explicit content, review your kids' activity and more.

Pro Tip: Parents will be happy to learn that none of the Alexa skills included with FreeTime Unlimited access or collect personal information from children.
