ELECTRONIC FILING NOW AVAILABLE FOR SOLAR WATER HEATER VARIANCE APPLICATION
All new single-family dwellings built in the State of Hawaii are required to have a solar water heater. If one will not be installed, a “variance” (exemption) from this state law must be requested and approved before building plans will be accepted. Until now, variance requests were submitted via mail, e-mail, fax, or in-person. The new online system now allows for convenient filing and online payment of the $25 fee, and expedited processing, saving time for architects, mechanical engineers and HSEO staff. Status of applications can be checked online, and approved applications can be downloaded directly from the website. Learn more
NEW SERVICE HELPS CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS PAY INVOICES ONLINE
A new special invoice payment system was launched on August 22, 2018. While charitable organizations have had the ability to pay annual renewal fees online for several years, there were a number of special fees that were still required to be paid via paper check. Organizations can now pay these fees online by entering their invoice number and paying via credit card or echeck. Now, with the new streamlined workflow, the agency can immediately generate and email custom invoices to the organizations, resulting in a much faster invoicing process. Learn more
