Lesson 275: Running on Faith
We know that our position in Christ is secure. How do we convert that into holy living today?
The answer: Gal.2:20 The life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God.
Our union with Christ is always there, from the moment of salvation. But we tap into the power of that union, and find fuel to run the race, by faith.
Heb.12:1-2 let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder & perfecter of our faith
Believers understand that they are saved by faith alone in Christ alone.
Eph.2:8-9 by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God
But the union with Christ by faith also operates daily: it enables you to do God’s will today.
This is the key for growing in holiness. A godly life of faith flows from grasping this union.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
