Holiness, Godliness, Usefulness

Lesson 566: Growing in Holiness, Pt.6
Christians have peace with God, but never with the world, with Satan and with our own flesh.
Rom.5:1 since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Rom.16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
Matt.10:34 Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Gal.5:17 the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other.
Don’t be discouraged as you battle temptation; your resistance proves that the Holy Spirit is with you. Wherever He is, there is war against sin.
Each of us may have a sinful history we would rather forget. The world says that our past performance determines our future destiny; if we have failed, we are tempted to give up.
But each Christian believer is a new creation, and has a new identity in Christ. We are no longer doomed to be what we once were.
Gal.2:20 It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.
2 Cor.5:17 if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
