Lesson 248: The Earth Is The Lord's
Isa.6:3 Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.
Psa.24:1,3-4,10 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart… The Lord Almighty—he is the King of glory.
We can’t bribe God; He already owns everything. Our performance doesn’t save us or keep us saved.
Obedience should be our thankful response to God’s grace and mercy. Then our actions will increasingly reflect holiness; the pursuit of holiness will become our delight. Titus 2:11-14
The purpose of these lessons on holiness is to discover the source of this delight, and to use it to avoid the pitfalls of legalism and license.
We are saved based on our union with Christ, not our works. Growth in holiness depends on the same union.
2 Tim.2:1 be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
When we realize the grace God has given us, we are overwhelmed by His love.
We begin to want the same things God desires; His purposes become our purposes.
James 5:11 you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
