Lesson 1013: Daniel Chapter 2, Pt.3
Why did God reveal such a great prophecy at such a sad time, using a dream?
God founded a nation by Abraham, deeding him the Promised Land. Gen.15:9-21
God promised King David that his descendant would rule on Israel’s throne forever.
God made unbreakable covenants with the nation of Israel; now they felt abandoned.
The Jews were in captivity, but using this dream, God said, “I have not forsaken you”.
Dreams were thought to be messages from Babylonian gods; it got the king’s attention.
Many today believe world affairs are going to get better, and that history repeats itself.
This philosophy was common in the ancient world, that history lacked purpose.
The Bible reveals that history has both purpose and direction - determined by God.
