Short Stories :: Architecture Meets Automobile

The temporal storage of automobiles has advanced the demand for car park architecture. Parking garages will respond to competition with increased amenity and creative experience designs. Corporate car ports can now offer an on-brand enterprise experience beginning with arrival.

Offered here: short story lines from our own visually enhanced parking spaces. A variety of visual media was employed to orchestrate the rich overlay of messages across these parking spaces. Brand and corporate identity are the initial layer. 
Four oversize photo prints on level four. Five photos on level five, each expressing a color coded strategy as well. But these are no ordinary photos. This insurance enterprise is familiar with adjustors photography of customer's cars, and each photo is made more relevant by the customer centric decals and bumper stickers we added to each.
Surface parking is reserved at this sustainability center by a series of iconic signs symbolic of the ecologic topics explored here.

Familiar faces beam out at arriving enterprise employees. The iconic cars also provide the color code for the garage levels.
These corporate sign standards include the sorting of shuttles, delivery trucks, motorcycles, visitor and employee automobiles. These are joined by messages tied specifically to parking safety and security.
Realistic license plates are superimposed atop the image of a brand matching yellow vehicle. Each yellow vehicle is silhouetted against the floor's color code, and the legend on the plate reinforces that color. Decals in the familiar corner locations of the license plate signal the initials of the urban location and the corporation's stock symbol.
Building access from the garage is spelled out: enter "IN" here. That two letter directional legend goes on to play a role in brand attributes of the enterprise writ large on every level. Each is given meaning by postings of interpretive text displayed on the corresponding elevator landing.
A program of analog and digital signage enhances the parking experience across this new university town. The 3D sign system is complimented by 2D passcards, hang tags, and decals coding the diverse faculty, staff, and student populations.
