Happy Feast Day of St Valentine! Isn’t it crazy how the Catholic Church has multiple feast days for saints every week and yet for some reason the Western world has decided they too want to get in on the celebration of St Valentine. So who was St Valentine and does he really enjoy heart-shaped chocolates as much as I do? Well you can read this article from The Catholic Company to learn about the origin of this feast day.

Thank you for all who attended class last week. The Inquirers discussed Original Sin when the Catechumenate group watched a great presentation on Natural Family Planning by Sandra Ruelas.

This Wednesday, February 9th we will meet at 6:30pm in the Assisi Room. The Inquirer group will be answering the question “What is Faith"?” with Rosalyn, and the Catechumenate group will be discussing Redemptive Suffering with Matt.

If you want to research Redemptive Suffering before coming on Wednesday, get out your Catechism and read through these paragraphs:

CCC 164-165, 309, 618, 1508, 1520-1521

We meet for Breaking Open the Word every Sunday at 10am Mass. After the priest’s homily, he will call forward all who are participating in RCIA. He says a blessing over you then dismisses you with one of our team members to meet together and discuss the bible readings that were just read at mass.

It is very helpful if you arrive to mass early so you can sit close to the front. It helps us know who is present and it’s a shorter walk for you when the priest calls you forward.
