President's Message

I am pleased to announce that our Club won the Small Club of the Year Award at the recent Bowls WA Awards night. This is a great credit to all our members who made this possible. We were up against some formidable clubs and in winning this award the Club can be extremely proud.

During the season we won one Pennant Flag and gained three promotions; held a very successful Mosman Bay Classic Triples; hoisted the Men’s Country Week and Men’s State Pairs; provided State players to both Men’s and Women’s teams; ran coaching for the local schools; and ran a very successful Jack Attack Competition. We also had two nominees for Volunteer of the Year Award in Vicki Eva and Ian Lilly.

I am also pleased to announce that there will be no increase in the membership fees for Full Members, Restricted Members and Social Members for the 2019/20 year.  The Committee have also reduced the Junior Membership fee to $10 + GST for the 2019/20 year.

A special thank you to our Bar Manager Paul Walker who left us on Friday 24 May to take up a position at North Beach Bowling Club, which is very close to his home. On behalf of the Committee and members, I wish Paul every success for the future.

Italian Night. On Wednesday 29 May our chef extraordinaire Chris McKenna, put on his fourth Autumn Italian food night for Club members and their guests. Over fifty diners were treated to a sumptuous three course Italian extravaganza which included minestrone soup, bruschetta and garlic bread, followed by penne bolognaise, then dessert, and tea and coffee.

A terrific evening was had by all, and our thanks and appreciation go to Chris and those who made the night such a success, in particular Mckenzie, Olivia, Rosie and Jessica.

Dinner and Dance Night. Come down to the Club on Friday 7 June for an evening of music (Blues, Soul and Rock 'n Roll) and dance featuring Dr Fish. Entry is $10 per head, with a DJ from 7.00 PM and a live band from 8.00 PM to 11.00 PM. A buffet dinner will be available from 6.30 PM.
Smoking Policy
Everyone should by now, be fully aware of the Club's smoking policy and of the severe penalties that can be imposed if these rules are ignored. Whilst most are doing the right thing, there are still a small number of members that persist in flouting them.

We ask again that everyone respect the rules and show support for the Committee and staff who have to enforce them, and also to avoid any potential personal embarrassment.

VIVIAN'S MARKET REPORT

End of Financial Year is upon us! Can you believe it?

With the election over and EOFY on its way we really can see the general real estate space feeling an overall sense of reprieve. Buyer confidence is on the way up and we have had a very busy month of sales and listings. Appraisals hit a high with Vivian’s doing a total of 12 appraisals for the month. This is a very good sign that people are moving back into the marketplace.

We have noticed that many of these appraisals fall into the downsizing, retiree, or final move category. With this in mind we ask you the following:

ARE YOU CONTEMPLATING YOUR FINAL MOVE? If so, have you been asking yourself questions like:
  • Is it time to sell and downsize?
  • When is the right time to sell and how long can I wait?
  • When is it too late to decide to sell?
  • What is my property worth?
  • How do I handle the stress of selling?
If these are questions you have been asking yourself and you think its time to get the right answers, please give us a call. We have all of the resources to help you plan and prepare to achieve your property goals. Whether it’s two months or two years we can guide you through the process every step of the way.

Please feel free to contact us to book in a confidential chat to discuss your property options on (08) 9384 4600, or come in and see us at our office, 43 Victoria Street, Mosman Park.

Of course, for all of your buying, selling or leasing needs please don’t hesitate to contact us, even if you just need some friendly advice. We are your local property specialists, ready and waiting to help.

We look forward to seeing you all around Mosman Park or down at the Bowling Club.
