Premier Regional Business Awards
The 2014 Premier Regional Business Awards Gala Dinner were held last night, and it certainly was a fantastic night. Congratulations to all of this year's nominees - they were all worthy of their nomination and we enjoyed hearing about their businesses throughout the night. SRX Global is the Australian market leader in electronic manufacturing services. Some of the products that the business manufactures are in the medical field include sleep apnoea machines, hand held ultrasound machines, medical disease diagnostic equipment and metabolism rate evaluation devices. In defense, the company is responsible for Heads Up Display systems for attack helicopters and battery power control systems for foot soldier electronics.

WINNER - NORDEN BODY WORKS
Norden Bodyworks was found by Ron Anson and Dennis Lantsbur in 1959 with the idea of building commercial transport truck bodies. Norden is synonymous with quality and service in Vehicle Access, Transport Solutions and Fluid Power. Three major divisions make up the company - Norden Conversion, Norden Hydraulic Connections and Kwikee/Power Gear.

WINNER - FUTURE METALS RECYCLING
Future Metals Recycling started in Shepparton in 2005 with two businessmen who purchased the business to develop the land and purchased Fletcher Metals. In March 2008, they established a Melbourne operation and in October 2008, they moved into the green-filled site in Dandenong South. Later that year, the business then purchased another operation known as National Metals in Hallam. The three sites were then consolidated into a single company in 2010.

Wurth first opened in Australia in 1982 and today the company employs around 550 people Australia wide with its office and warehouse at Healey Road, Dandenong being its national headquarters for all its central operations. It is well on its was to becoming the number one supplier of assembly and fastening materials in Australia due to its focus on customer service.

WINNER - ALEX WOLLER
Alex is currently studying a Certificate 3 Engineering and Fabrication at Chisholm Institute. Alex is a passionate and driven young individual, evident throughout his education, volunteer work and his apprenticeship. He has spent time with Frankston City Life Centre, preparing food for the homeless and assisting in their community op shops. He has also spent time with Scope and through this organisation, Alex offered assistance and support to those in need. Alex’s strong sense of patience and understanding towards those with difficulties comes from his lifelong experience with a younger brother who has autism.
