Greater Dandenong Chamber Business Awards July Breakfast Recap
Wednesday 6 July saw over 85 guests come along for our second Greater Dandenong Chamber Business Awards Breakfast! A very busy event saw two Youth Enterprise nominees presented, three business nominees, as well as a very energetic guest speaker - Jason Cunningham. All our awards events this year will be hosted by Sjaak Kusters so the audience had a chance to get to know him, and Chamber President, Paul Broom spoke to the crowd about the awards this year, and a few other sings that the Chamber will be doing later in the year.

Congratulations to our two Youth Enterprise Nominees - Charly Scott and Briony Santamaria. Both sound like they will have very bright futures in their chosen careers! Congratulations also goes to our three business nominees - Beletti Restaurant - Café - Bar, RJ Sanderson & Associates, and TanGold Pastry Australia. Each of these businesses are very worth nominees in their categories and we wish them well at the final award presentation event later in the year.

Finally, we were all ready the hear about the seven key ingredients for business success from our guest speaker, Jason Cunningham. Jason did not disappoint - giving everyone in the room great advice about how to boost their business, and told some fantastic personal stories from his life and how it has shaped him as a business person.

Guest Speaker - Paul Worsteling
Paul Worsteling is arguably one of the most recognisable faces in recreational fishing in Australia with an unmistakable laugh, passion and enthusiasm for the sport. He was born in Dandenong, and while attending school, every spare minute was spent either fishing or working at a tackle shop near his home. At age 22, he was given the opportunity to purchase the tackle shop where he had worked since he was 14.  He grabbed it with both hands and become the proprietor of Cranbourne Bait and Tackle.
He has reported live on 3AW, ABC, 2KY and over 20 other networks nationwide and co-hosts 3AW Melbourne’s popular Friday night fishing show. Paul’s television career started with guest appearances on Escape with ET (CH9) and Rex hunt Fishing Adventures (CH7). This led to a four-year stint as Rex Hunt’s co-host, and then Paul started the popular IFISH program on the TEN network. IFISH is now regarded by many as Australia’s premier fishing program, receiving Logie Nominations in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Paul still owns and operates his Tackle World Cranbourne store with his wife Cristy, where they have now both worked for over 25 years and Tackleworld Mornington which opened its doors in 2013. Paul also holds two Australian Anglers Association National Records for Mako and Thresher sharks, a state record for Zebra fish and several IGFA World records for species including Giant Trevally, Golden Trevally and Australian Salmon.
Every spare minute you will find the Worsteling family fishing together on Western Port or Port Phillip Bay.

Grand Final Charity Lunch
Guest Speaker - Chris Judd
This year's Grand Final Charity Lunch will be held on Wednesday 28 September, 12.00pm, at Sandhurst Golf Club. This is a fantastic annual event that has raised over $70,000 in the past ten years for some very worthy charities. Last year alone we raised a whopping $10,000, so lets see if we can beat this total this year! Please put this date into your diary NOW to avoid missing out!

We are very excited to announce that this year's Guest Speaker is Chris Judd. Last year's event was a sell-out, so make sure that you get in early to book your tickets. Booking forms will be up on our website in the coming weeks.
