November Breakfast - BOOK NOW
The 2015 Premier Regional Business Awards will mark the Silver Anniversary of what has been recognised as one of the most respected awards programs in the country. This year's breakfast event will be focusing on the last 25 years in the Greater Dandenong area, what people have done and achieved during this period, and where the region is headed now. The celebratory year will be capped off with a massive Gala Celebration in March 2016.
Guest Speaker - Tammy Van Wisse
Champion Long-Distance Swimmer
Tammy started her formal swimming training at age 11. Her first marathon swim was in 1986 from Beaumaris to Frankston, a distance of twenty kilometres. In 1996, she became the first person to swim the treacherous Bass Strait. Tammy also established record times and wins for swimming Loch Ness New Zealand’s Cook Straight, the English Channel, Olympic Games Centenary Marathon swim in Greece and the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in New York. On 18 February 2001, Tammy completed her greatest challenge to date by swimming the entire length of the Murray River from the alps to the ocean – a feat no one else in the world has achieved. Starting from Corryong in Victoria’s high country, it took Tammy 106 days to reach the Murray Mouth in South Australia, a distance of 2438 kilometres. Hypothermia, vomiting, swollen tongue - just a day in the life of a marathon swimmer. "You need to be a touch crazy," says Tammy.

2016 Breakfast and Awards Program
As many of you know, the 2015 Premier Regional Business Awards is the 25th year of the awards program, and this celebratory year will be celebrated with a Gala Dinner in March 2016. We are hoping to get over 500 people in attendance to celebrate the last 25 years of the awards.
After the dinner, the format of the awards will change. The Chamber Executive Committee are in the process of finalising our new-look awards program, but we can confirm to you all that there will continue to be awards breakfasts in 2016 and we will continue to recognise and celebrate outstanding businesses in the Greater Dandenong area.
We will keep you posted of these changes, but if you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact Amanda Checken in the Chamber office.
PRBA October Breakfast Recap
Wednesday 14 October saw the third Premier Regional Business Awards Breakfast for the celebratory 25th year of the awards program take place. Over sixty-five guests joined us on a beautiful Spring morning!
The Youth Enterprise Nominee for this event was Juwite Jouhari, currently studying a Diploma of Community Services. We then heard two great stories from our highlighted businesses - past winner Actco Pickering Metal Industries and a newer business to the region, Magic Mobility.
We were then honoured to have Riki Polygenis, Head of Australian Economics from the NAB, speak to us on the current climate in Economics. It was great to hear this information, especially Riki's take on the current housing market and its future trends!
Grand Final Charity Lunch
The Executive Committee are very pleased to announce that this year's Grand Final Charity lunch has raised a whopping $10,000 for the Make A Wish Foundation. We had such an overwhelming response to the Live and Silent Auctions on the day, not to mention the even deeper pockets for the raffle and Dandy Chamber Lotto.
We will be officially presenting the cheque to Make A Wish at the November Breakfast. Thank you to everyone that came along to the event and for those who didn't but supported us by donating auction items. Finally, a huge thank you goes to this year's sponsors!

Platinum Partner Networking Night Recap
On Thursday 22 October, over 40 Chamber guests came along to our Platinum Partner Networking Night, hosted by the Australian Taxation Office in their brand new building! All in attendance could agree that their building and facilities were extremely impressive, and all the ATO staff were very happy with their new surroundings.
Thank you to all the ATO staff that were available on the night to answer our tax-related questions. All those in attendance at this event will be exempt from audit for the next few years!
