Description of Responsibilities:

The Center for Global Initiatives (CGI) is looking for students experienced in global health to serve as a Global Health Intern with the CGI.  The students will work closely with the CGI Manager to lead collaborate with other CGI Intern team members on small projects. Main responsibilities include planning of projects for the PAHO/WHO CC and the Global Alliance for Nursing and Midwifery (GANM) blogs, discussion boards, webinars, podcasts, research, social media, events and coordinating resources for new project ideas.

 General duties Include:

  • Assist with GANM blogs
    • Reading, editing and posting blogs
    • Identifying topics of interest for blogs and solicit new bloggers
  • Assist with organization of topics and logistics for GANM webinars
    • Identify topics and speakers for webinars
    • Assist with logistics of webinars
  • Assist in organizing the online library for the GANM
    • Put resources in topic of interest areas
    • Ensure that the resources are evidence based and up to date
    • Add in other open source resources that may be of interest to the group
  • Assist with visits of International Visiting Scholars and students

Preferred Skills/Expertise:

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Interest in global health
  • Interest in women’s health
  • Foreign language skills a plus (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic preferred)
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm and initiative

 Rate of Pay         $18/hr

 Interviews will take place at the SON on February 15, 17, 20 or 22nd, 2017. Final decisions will be announced February 24th.
