September 21 marks The International Day of Peace. This year, we turn our attention to the ways grassroots peacebuilders are creating moments of #TangibleHope that advance the pursuit of peace, justice and healing. Guided by our values and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we plan for peace!

International Day of Peace (IDP) is one week away and our Cooperation Circles and Affiliates are prepared for the celebration. This year, the theme of IDP is “The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Building Blocks for Peace.” Your fellow URI members are building off of these blocks by creating moments of #TangibleHope that strengthen the ideals of peace, both within and among their diverse communities.

Going Beyond the Acronym;
What are the SDGs?

The 17 SDGs were unanimously adopted by the 193 Member States of the United Nations at a historic summit of the world’s leaders this past September. Much of the work already being done by URI members falls within these action areas.
