As we celebrate URI's 16th anniversary, we pause to reflect on our evolving role as peacebuilders and marvel at the changemakers around Canada, the United States and the world who continue to create moments of #TangibleHope for us amidst violence and tragedy.

In the wake of the tragedies that have occurred over the past months, members of The United Religions Initiative have been working tirelessly, within their communities, to bring healing and positive action. Pictured above is Leadership Council member Johnny Martin speaking his truth at an interfaith vigil honoring the victims of the Orlando shootings. The SunDABT Cooperation Circle, of which he is a part, helped create a space for ALL to mourn, weep and work together. Read more on this story and what's happening in the URI network across Canada and the United States below:

Last month, we celebrated The United Religions Initiative's 16th anniversary. Over the course of these years, our family has grown to include 791 Cooperation Circles in 96 countries! To this day, we continue to stand together at the intersection of our beliefs and our commitment to positive social change work, with the knowledge that we can make more of a difference standing together than we can working in silos
