Nearly 10,000 people gathered in Salt Lake City for the Parliament of the World's Religions last month, including several hundred URI members. It was a pleasure to meet so many of you and a privilege to extend hospitality through our reception and hospitality suite.   • Coming Soon! Trustee Selection - The Global Council of United Religions Initiative is a board of trustees elected by URI Cooperation Circles. Each region is represented by three Trustees who serve a three year term. In 2016, North America will take part in this election process. Trustee Selection Coordinator Karen Hernandez (khernandez@uri.org) will be helping you through the nomination and voting process. Keep an eye out for communication from her in the coming weeks!   • World Interfaith Harmony Week - URI North America will sponsor three Cooperation Circle or Affiliate members to travel to New York City to celebrate World Interfaith Harmony Week at the UN Headquarters. To qualify, you must submit a report about your involvement in International Day of Pace. Click here to learn more and submit your report or email sari@uri.org

    Sylvia Acan grew up in Uganda amidst war and violence. Today she is countering that violence with interfaith action:

    The Mediterranean Peace Donkey project is a peacebuilding public art exhibition of 21 life-sized fiberglass “Maltese” donkeys painted by premier Maltese and Mediterranean artists symbolizing the need for peace and compassion between the Middle East and West. The exhibit is organized by CARAVAN, a URI Cooperation Circle. Read more.
