Dear partners and innovators,

Have you ever wondered how to embed digital skills badges in academic courses across one college β€” or an entire system?

UpSkill SA! β€” a partnership between Alamo Colleges District, Goodwill Industries of San Antonio and the Lab β€” led Alamo Colleges to create more opportunities for students to earn badges for marketable skills including collaboration, resilience, and critical thinking.

The results have been impressive so far ...

BRIDGES Rural in Maine
Hello from picture-perfect Maine, where the BRIDGES Rural team visited Eastern Maine Community College last week. EMCC's main campus is located on 72 acres in Bangor and serves over 2,000 learners across a large geographical area that reaches all the way to Maine's east coast.
While in Maine, BRIDGES Rural project lead  Leslie Daugherty (from left), and education designers Maureen Isimbi and Elisabeth Fellowes, facilitated employer sessions and helped map the assumed learner journey as EMCC moves to a "One College" model. RIGHT: The EMCC design team gave Leslie a Croc charm as a thank-you. "They get me!"
Maureen tries some Diet Moxie β€” a "distinctively different" New England soda.
Thanks to the Eastern Maine Community College core design team! Read more about EMCC β€” and innovations happening at other rural community colleges across the country β€” in BRIDGES Rural Design Insights Part 2: Designing + Piloting a New Approach to Economic Agility in Rural Communities .
