Usplampete 2014
We had a great time at the final gathering for Swiss in Sydney at the Eiger Restaurant in Petersham. Daniel Frutiger prepared säkli's filled with Swiss Christmas goodies including Zimtsterne, Basler Brunsli, Mailänderli, nüssli and schögeli for everyone whom came along on the night. We finished up the night with a few games of Jass accompanied with a few glasses of wine. All Swiss living in Sydney are more than welcome to join this annual event - we look forward to the next Usplampete at the end of 2015.
Children's Samiclaus
The Children’s Samichlaus, organised by The Swiss Playgroup of Sydney, was once again a well-received event and special occasion for the children. The children were excited to meet Samichlaus and understandably a little anxious to meet Schmutzli. Samichlaus read a personal message to each child from his Goldenen Buch and offered a säckli with a wide selection of traditional Swiss Christmas goodies. There was a kindi farm petting zoo, which was dearly loved by all the children and raffle prizes were also on offer. The SCNSW provided the kids with a free wienerli and brot, and delicious cervelat, bratwust and fleischkäse for the adults. There were also Grittibänz, nussgipfel and Lebkuchen for sale and the SCNSW offered Nespresso coffee. We hope all the children and their parents and family enjoyed the day and had a memorable and festive experience.

Please visit our Facebook page for more photos and a full list of thanks and acknowledgments for all the volenteers and businesses that contributed on the day.
