#FunFact: 556 hydroelectric power plants produce about 56% of Switzerland's domestic electricity―some 19 million gigawatt hours a year―and another 39% from nuclear power, resulting in a nearly CO2-free electricity-generating network. Sourceexpatica.com, kickassfacts.com. Image credit: picswiss.ch

Swiss Central Summer BBQ
For the first time, a small group of Swiss-Australians met at a centrally located spot in regional NSW for a Swiss Summer BBQ. The event was organised by Fränzi Weiss, a Swiss-Australian living in Orange NSW, and was held a fortnight ago along picturesque Lake Canobolas. The weather was perfect and all who attended had a lovely time. This event is a great way to establish connections with Swiss-Australians in regional areas and showing support for the greater Swiss community of NSW. We hope to see this event grow with many more attendees next year. More info here. Images courtesy of Fränzi Weiss.
