Photo Contest

Attention photographers!!
 
The Indian River Lagoon Program is seeking lagoon photographs from local photographers for the Indian River Lagoon 2016 Calendar.
 
All images must have been taken within the Indian River Lagoon watershed from Ponce Inlet in Volusia County to Jupiter Inlet in Palm Beach County. Categories include wildlife, lagoon landscapes, sunrise and sunset, lagoon recreation and lagoon restoration projects. All images must feature some aspect of the Indian River Lagoon. Coastal beach photos, surfing photos, etc., are not eligible.
 The deadline is May 31st, 2015

Join our Lagoon Lifesaver Education Corps

or become a Green Business!


 
Lagoon Lifesavers - Become a volunteer in our  Lagoon Lifesavers Education Corp . As a Lagoon Lifesaver you will be able to go out into your community and share information about the Indian River Lagoon! You will be supplied with materials designed to speak to K-12 students and members of civic organizations.

Green Business -  This program encourages leaders of businesses and industries to adopt best management practices that prevent pollution and increase conservation.  Businesses, you will be asked to complete our Green Business application and we will promote your business in the community as a Green Business!

MRC's Brown Bag Lunch Speaker Series

1st Tuesday of the Month at Noon 

 
The Marine Resources Council’s Brown Bag Lunch speaker series is held at noon on the 1st Tuesday of every month at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House, 3275 Dixie Highway NE, Palm Bay.   MRC has been organizing Brown Bag Lunch presentations in the community since 1991 thanks to community members like you.   Check out MRC's Event Calendar for more information.

Doug Scheidt Lead Aquatic Biologist of the KSC Ecological Program and Lynne V Phillips Physical Scientist for KSC Environmental Planning.

An overview of KSC and its environmental stewardship goals and partnerships that they have developed and nurtured over the years.  It will focus on aquatic health and monitoring of the Indian River Lagoon.

Mike Daniel – Surfrider Foundation and a founder of the Ocean-Reef-Beach Festival in Satellite Beach.
Dr. Duane DeFreese – First Director of the Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Program.
Brandon Smith – Naturalist at Riverwalk Family Park and lead instructor in the Florida Master Naturalist Program.
Michelle Smurl – Director of Animal Programs and Conservation Programs for the Brevard Zoo.
Laurilee Thompson – Founder of the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival. 
Suzanne Valencia – Former Chair of Turtle Coast Sierra Club and current President of Conradina Chapter, Florida Native Plant Society.
