Hobe Sound Updates: Over a quarter mile of trail has been cut at the preserve in the Town of Jupiter! Our next steps at this site will be to create educational kiosks with the Boy Scouts of America. If you are a scout, contact Nick Sanzone to get involved in the project.

The mangrove planting at Banana Bay was a success! We planted nearly 50 mangrove trees, some of which were six years old!

Right whale season has ended. The right whale advisory in Cape Cod Bay was lifted on May 15th. The right whales have moved out of Cape Cod Bay and have gone elsewhere. Find more information here.

Our summer fertilizer ban has officially started! Protect the Lagoon and take the summer off from fertilizing!
Fertilizer Ban: June 1-September 30

In Florida, summer rains don't water fertilizer in-they wash it off our lawns and into our Lagoon! The excess nitrogen and phosphorus in the water feeds algae blooms that use up the oxygen, kill fish and turn our waters green!

Visit www.BeFloridianNow.org for more information
