Volunteer With the

Habitat Restoration Program

Attention to all past present and future volunteers and MRC members. The MRC Habitat Restoration program has two volunteer opportunities.

First: The Marine Resources Council is reaching out to the boating community to assist in the final fish seining event. This event will be on April 25th at the Pelican Island Wildlife Refuge. The MRC will work with FIT to collect data by counting the number and diversity of fish populations to determine the health of the area.

Please contact Nicholas F Sanzone the Habitat Restoration Specialist for more information at 321-725-7775 or

Second: We are looking for volunteers to join us in Hobe Sound Florida, where we are creating educational trails and removing invasive species on a 45 acre preserve in the Town of Jupiter Island.

Please contact Nicholas F Sanzone the Habitat Restoration Specialist for more information at 321-725-7775 or

Also, if you are interested in joining the Pepper Buster Team you will receive notifications about future events where we will remove Brazilian pepper and other invasive plants that threaten native habitat.

Notice: we will not be having our monthly mangrove potting event on April 18. Instead come visit us at the Pelican Island Earth Day event.

Please visit us at the lagoon house May 23 for our next mangrove potting event.
