Ideas to ignite your personal, team and company performance

Welcome to the Evolving Strategies monthly newsletter providing you with ideas to ignite personal, team and company performance during change. Evolving Strategies is a consulting firm helping companies and people learn, change and lead. Have a topic or challenge you'd like to see addressed? Email us. Thank you - Sandy

Leaders,

Grow and Show - we've aligned our May theme on change with the Spring season that parts of the world are experiencing. While gardens across the world are beginning to bloom, how do you build an environment conducive for your people to grow and show their competencies? How do you help them build capabilities to satisfy not only job requirements but also raise the competitive advantage of the organization? When you promote your staff, are you only using past achievements to forecast future successes? Join us each week in May as we address linking Staff Abilities with Task Requirements (another interacting dimension of the Burke Litwin Model of Organizational Performance and Change).

Enjoy,

Can your company "blow" an interview?

Last Month's Recap:
Individual Needs & Values

What do 'Need', 'Want', 'Value' have in common? Each word is both noun and verb, depending on context. As an objective (noun), we have at least one on our agenda to satisfy as a goal in life. As an action (verb), we demonstrate them in our personal and professional lives. Are we doing enough to fulfill our team member's needs, wants and values? How can we weave what each individual values into the larger picture of team synergy? Change leaders share their experiences below. Apply their suggested actions and tools to boost your members' respect of work and raise their job engagement levels.

[Individuals] As a leader, how do you help each member align own-interests with the team-pursuits?

Congratulations to the OPOWER team, including Rod Morris [shown here with his lovely wife (and Sandy's former classmate!) Andrea Morris. Opower, an energy software company who started trading on the New York Stock Exchange in early April, is demonstrating how young tech entrepreneurs can tackle meaningful problems — like energy efficiency and climate change — and still achieve the Silicon Valley dream of financial success.
