Given the history of aviation within the District, thanks to Mr. Alton Stewart, I thought it only appropriate to let folks know about the 2016 NC Aviation Art Contest.

The contest, sponsored by N.C. Transportation’s Division of Aviation, is open to children between the ages of 6 and 17. The entry deadline is Jan. 22, 2016.

Contest rules and guidelines, as well as where to submit entries, are available on the Division of Aviation’s website which can be found by clicking here.

I hope this update finds you well. You are receiving this because you established a relationship with the Office of Rep. David R. Lewis.

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. I often reflect on the sacrifice those who serve make. They give up their careers, their families, their friends, and some give their life to serve our county. I am truly thankful for those who serve.

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
-John F. Kennedy

After session ended in Raleigh, I began to spend not only my days barning tobacco, but also my nights. We had so much work ahead of us and the weather didn't make it any easier. However, it's great to be back on the farm.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact my office. I appreciate your continued support and wish you well.

- David
