We did it!!
Thank you to the hundreds of community members who signed and provided statements of support, and to the 20+ local leaders who spoke out in favor of cleaner energy at the meeting on June 10th, including Das Williams office, Environmental Defense Center, League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara, CALPIRG - UC Santa Barbara Chapter, VCCool - Ventura Climate Care Options Organized Locally, World Business Academy, SBCAN - Santa Barbara County Action Network, and Carpinteria Valley Association.
That was such an important first step in getting the feasibility study underway for Community Choice Energy. But our work is far from finished! We need to keep our local legislators informed about how we feel about choosing cleaner energy.

3 Feet for Safety Success!
VCCool and the Ventura County Active Transportation Coalition (a project of VCCool) had a great meeting with the Oxnard Police Department yesterday. The goal - provide materials about the 3-Feet-for-Safety law for each officer, and partner with the department on getting word out about this important safety law.
We want to make sure that the 3 foot buffer between moving cars and people on bicycles, becomes the norm for Ventura County.
A big thank you to the Oxnard PD. They took time to hear our concerns and brainstorm great ways to get the word out. They will be handing our new materials out at their training's and working with us on getting 3-Feet signage. Thanks to Roman Melgoza, our youngest team member, we are even starting a partnership to help provide free helmets for youth in Oxnard.
This campaign will reach out to police departments in all cities in Ventura County. We will provide them free materials, share our stories, and learn more about their ideas and experience. If you are interested in joining a group to go discuss this important topic with the police in YOUR city, please email us at action@vccool.org
