Jan 14 - PC Women in Politics Training Day at the Albany Club
9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

This training day is perfect for anyone already involved in a campaign, whether or not you want to run as a candidate yourself or just learn more about campaigns.

Sessions will be led by political professional women such as Jodi MacDonald and Tannis Drysdale. The special luncheon session will feature female MPPs.

Jan 17 - 3rd Conservative Leadership Debate
6:30 PM

Leadership Candidates will be debating for the third time in Quebec City. Like previous debates, candidates will address issues that matter most to Canadians. Employment, infrastructure, health care, balancing the budget and keeping taxes low and more. No matter who our next leader is, we need to make sure that we hold Justin Trudeau’s Liberals to one term!

Cost: $20 per person or free online

Jan 18 - John Prato, Former Consul General of Canada at The Albany Club

Mr. Prato will discuss his role in promoting and supporting Canada’s interests in the influential political region of New York and share his perspective on energy, environmental, economic, and security policies as they pertain to Canadian-U.S. relations, all a few days before the potentially transformative inauguration of President Donald J. Jan 27 - The Hon. Peter MacKay at the C.D. Howe Institute

The Hon. Peter MacKay will be joining Allan Gotlieb and Larry Herman for a roundtable luncheon on the topic of "After the Inauguration: The Canada-US Relationship with President Trump".

Jan 19 - Conservative Party of Canada Internship

The Conservative Internship Program is a unique opportunity to learn about politics, develop your skills as a leader, Conservative campaigner, and help to build the Conservative Party of Canada.

Location: Ottawa, ON

Pay: As a general rule, wages are determined by the specific employing office. However, most offices typically pay approximately $450/week.

Jan 31 - Ontario Legislative Internship Programme (OLIP)

The Programme is designed to provide backbench MPPs with highly qualified assistants. In addition to providing practical experience with the daily workings of the Ontario Legislature, OLIP provides Interns the opportunity to supplement their university training through regular academic discussions and by writing an academic paper on a topic of their choice.

Location: Toronto, ON

Pay: $21,000 in stipends with additional payments upon completion of a draft and final version of an academic paper.

Jan 31 - Canadian Parliamentary Internship Programme

For the past forty-six years, the Programme has given university graduates from across the country the opportunity to work and study on Parliament Hill from September to June. This independent, non-partisan initiative is supported by private and public sector sponsors.

Pay: Interns receive a $23,000 stipend.

Save the Date: Generation Screwed Toronto Action Forum - Feb 11

Generation Screwed is fighting for fiscal responsibility on 27 Canadian campuses and counting. Following successful large scale events in Montreal, Calgary and Quebec City, they are launching this year’s Action Forum series in Toronto, in partnership with Students on Political Correctness for an event aimed at tackling deficit spending, lack of opportunities for youth and the political climate on campus.
