Multi-platform and multi-genre projects
On average, this year applications include 3 different platforms per project, 3.2 to be more precise.
Web is the most represented media (90% of the submitted projects offers online extension) and mobile & tablets follow closely behind with 78%. Surprisingly, 28 % of the projects no longer include any traditional screen (TV or cinema).
Moreover, it’s not only about the diversity of platforms, but also multiplicity of genres. This year we have noticed that interactive projects tend to merge at least 2 different genres on average. Thus, not only the received projects tend to invent new narrative forms, but also seem to overgrow the standards imposed by traditional screens. The Cross Video Days emerge as a hub for innovative works, daring new forms, length, storytelling and its form.
