CROSS VIDEO DAYS' CALL FOR PROJECTS NEW RECORD

378 PROJECTS FROM 51 COUNTRIES

MARCH, TUESDAY, 24, 2015 - PRESS RELEASE
With 378 project submissions from 51 different countries, this year the Cross Video Days have reached its call for projects peak. These results show a major shift for this event: starting at a European level (32 countries represented in 2013) it soon became a distinctive international market.
  • The burst of American projects (including Canadian, both North and South American projects) this year, is particularly important for the internationalization process
  • In 58% of the received projects English is the main production language.
Multi-platform and multi-genre projects

On average, this year applications include 3 different platforms per project, 3.2 to be more precise.
Web is the most represented media (90% of the submitted projects offers online extension) and mobile & tablets follow closely behind with 78%. Surprisingly, 28 % of the projects no longer include any traditional screen (TV or cinema).

Moreover, it’s not only about the diversity of platforms, but also multiplicity of genres. This year we have noticed that interactive projects tend to merge at least 2 different genres on average. Thus, not only the received projects tend to invent new narrative forms, but also seem to overgrow the standards imposed by traditional screens. The Cross Video Days emerge as a hub for innovative works, daring new forms, length, storytelling and its form.
The Cross Video Days: an international summit in Paris

For the past 6 years the Cross Video Days have dedicated their work for the promotion of new narrative forms and became the European market leader for financing and co-production of digital content. In partnership with other major events of the audiovisual sector - Cannes Film Market, MIFA, Power To The Pixel, Filmteractive, IDOC and the Financing Forum Workshop For Kids Content - Cross Video Days have become a hub for discovering, meeting and understanding multi-platform, interactive and digital productions.
This success is due to a selection of high quality projects and on-site matchmaking with the major multi-platform commissioners, which this year will take place in Paris in June 11-12.

Aside from the Content Market, which remains at the heart of the Cross Video Days, we are also showcasing the most innovative and ground breaking Start-Ups as well as diversity of workshops, keynotes and discussions about the current challenges of the digital transition in the audiovisual sector. The official Content Market selection will be available in late April. Join us in Paris from June 11th to 12th for the next edition of the Cross Video Days.
