Big news to share this month! This fall SFAI will launch 3rd Street Studios Program–offering affordable studios for alumni and the greater SFAI community. The spaces will be located at our Graduate Center and include access to facilities. Applications are due September 10 for move-in October 1. Learn more about the program and application details here.

Created by Katie Harwood (MFA, 2015) in collaboration with Stephanie A Lindsey (MFA, 2006), Cait Molloy (MFA, 2015), and Liz Smith (MA, 2015), this new imprint has just released the first issue of Rabbit Rabbit, an annual curated journal of artists and innovators. Themed TRANSITION, it features the work and words of emerging artists, 12 of whom are SFAI alumni!
Andrew Schoultz and Aaron Noble (MFA, 1982) will create a new large-scale mural at the same site of their iconic 2002 work, Generator. Generator is painted on the exterior wall of Lexington Standard, a boutique owned by alumnus Mark Morris (MFA, 2004), at 3469 18th Street at Lexington Street.
Through our alumni contributions, we have raised over $15,000 so far for the new Graduate Center at Fort Mason! If you haven’t yet, please consider making a $1,000 or more donation and the Wilhelm Family Foundation will (generously) provide a one-to-one match to SFAI’s Making History Campaign.
