Holy Trinity – The BCT’s venue in Central Brussels

The BCT’s main location and playgroup centre at Imagine in Wezembeek-Oppem is the perfect place for families to get together because it is designed with children in mind: spacious and equipped with a huge variety of fun and educational toys. But over the last few years it has become obvious that our growing membership in central Brussels would like to have more BCT activities to take place closer to them.

So we have decided to expand the range of activities offered at Holy Trinity. It is just around the corner from Av. Louise and Av. de la Toison d’Or and thus especially convenient for families in central Brussels. There are already four playgroups running at the Holy Trinity Church: one is held once a month and the other three every week.

But that’s just the beginning: with a new series of courses aimed at helping members to discover and develop new skills and interests (the BCT Member Courses – see below) and an increased number of information talks, we are bringing even more variety to Holy Trinity. And depending on demand, we hope to organize even more of our activities for children and parents ‘downtown’ in the future.

BCT Member Courses – From members for members

Most of the BCT’s activities are aimed at children and their parents. The new BCT Member Courses, on the other hand, are aimed at parents only. Many of our members are certified specialists in their field of profession and they have a lot of expertise to offer to other members.

We have therefore teamed up with some of them and are happy to be able to regularly offer courses and classes on a variety of topics such as parenting skills, time management, Pilates, yoga, breathing techniques, etc.

Courses include a free trial session, which is also open to non-members. More information is available on the BCT website: BCT Member Courses.

Pregnancy in Belgium evening – An introduction

“Congratulations, you are pregnant!” Four simple words that open a whole new world with many questions. If these words are spoken away from your home country they can be intimidating. The BCT’s Pregnancy in Belgium evening is a good introduction into how things work here in Belgium. Children are born the same way all over the world but there are a few things that are different from culture to culture, from country to country.

Facilitated by our qualified and experienced prenatal teachers, they give attendants practical information such as who to turn to for prenatal care, how to choose a hospital, about healthcare and childcare after the birth as well as registering your child and maternity leave. These one-off sessions are a good start into the world of parenting in Belgium – for expecting parents but also for those just planning to have a baby.

More information about dates and how to register for a Pregnancy in Belgium evening is available on the BCT’s website.

BCT Membership – Belong. Explore. Connect. Impact.

The BCT is a non-profit organisation that welcomes families and parents-to-be from around the globe. No matter whether you are looking for useful information, want to use the BCT’s prenatal and postnatal services or join the BCT’s social activities: the BCT will help you with the first years of family life, all in English.

By joining the BCT, the whole family benefits from what we have to offer: all family members including nannies and caretakers, even grandparents. Which means while parents are at work, their children can still attend our playgroups with their nannies and don’t have to miss out meeting their friends and play in a welcoming and safe environment.

Every two months, members receive Small Talk magazine, which provides a wealth of information about family life in Belgium and articles on pregnancy and parenting-related issues. It also provides up-to-date information about all BCT activities, services and events.

Find more information about the benefits of a BCT membership on our website.
