COVID-19 Guidelines
The first thing you are going to want to do is read about our Meeting Guidelines for COVID. This will be required reading for all participants for the coming year. The executive summary is included below:
The Zebracorns have developed a plan for dealing with COVID-19 during the 2020/2021 season and beyond.
The overall goal is to reduce risk as much as possible while still providing to students as many of the benefits of the team as possible
The balance between risk and reward for students and mentors will be continually evaluated throughout the school year
The team will apply a set of rules which is at least as cautious as NCSSM guidelines and may be more strict in specific cases. NCSSM guidelines are available at https://www.ncssm.edu/protecting-our-community
We will have remote meetings be our primary mode of operation
In-person meetings will sometimes be necessary. When they occur they will
Be limited in size
Attempt to include the full set of students during the course of the season
Follow social distancing guidelines
Be restricted to NCSSM-approved mentors and residential NCSSM students
Require the use of PPE at all times (face masks and safety glasses)
Require pre-meeting temperature screening
Require hand sanitizing prior to start of meeting
Maintain data for contact tracing if needed
Clean up according to NCSSM standards before ending the meetings
Participations in competitions will be evaluated as more detail becomes available
