Last Week of Pre-Season!

This is our last week of the pre-season.  The next time we see you all, it will be Kickoff and the season will begin.  This Thursday's meeting is a very important one that you won't want to miss so please come out for it (and it's required).

On Thursday, December 19th, we will be having a winter holiday party. Please bring snacks or drinks to share with the team! We will spend the evening socializing, reflecting on preseason as well as talk about kickoff, competitions and the upcoming build season.

Kickoff Survey

This year, Kickoff will happen on January 4th while NCSSM is still on break. Kickoff is a big day for the team as it is the first announcement for the competition and begins our build season. Please fill out this survey to let us know if you can make it to kickoff, if you need a place to stay, or if you can house one (or more!) of our out-of-area NCSSM students.

If you would be interested in providing food for dinner on Saturday please email to let us know which meal you would be willing to provide (We've got someone covering lunch now but are trying to find a generous parent to help us with dinner). Kickoff is a long day, so it's great to have sustenance for our students.

If you are not able to attend kickoff, please be sure that you watch the kickoff video and read the rules thoroughly. We will likely be voting on the team's strategy Monday night, so you must be caught up to participate in the discussion.

All forms must be turned in before kickoff. Please check the hours system if you are unsure about your form status.

We are beginning to get questions about what competitions the team will be attending next year (2020).  We don't yet know the details for those events as we have only recently been able to sign up and been confirmed for those events.  We are still waiting on additional details.

One page where you can see which events the team will be attending, as well as other team information is The Blue Alliance:

In addition to the above link, the official FIRST website contains event information for our team as well:

We do not have confirmed details for all of our events at the moment, please be patient with us while we get all of the information together and get registered for events.  We anticipate having some details available sometime in the next few weeks. The events listed on the Team's Google Calendar available on are not necessarily events the team will be attending and are on the calendar for planning purposes.

Time Requirements

For the fall, leading up until our season gets started in January, students will be required to attend regular meetings on Thursday evenings from 5:30PM until 8:00PM. Students will need to sign in and out for these meetings to track attendance. Failure to attend the required meetings will result in removal from the team.

This requirement and many more are discussed in our Team's Handbook, which you can find below.

The new Team Handbook is available here:

Along with the new handbook, there is also a new pre-season calendar for the team and a checklist that new members might find helpful. The forms are also available now too!!!

That's right!!! Our forms are ready for everyone to read and sign! Just the forms from the end of the handbook are available here for you to download (right here, click this link). When completed, they can be scanned and emailed to or brought into the lab for us.

As always, if you have any questions, please send an email to
