Bishop Seage announces worship changes in response to Covid-19 Virus.
I received word today from Bishop Seage that due to the rising number of cases of Covid-19, and based on the recommendation of the Mississippi Department of Health, he has made the decision to suspend all public worship in the Diocese of Mississippi beginning Sunday, December 6th, 2020. He has communicated that decision to the diocese in his own letter found here.
What this means for us:
Beginning this weekend, and until further notice, St. Mark's will NOT have in-person worship services. A small group will gather Sunday at 10am to offer Holy Eucharist for the congregation. This service will be broadcast live on our Facebook page and available afterward on our website. (The St. Nicholas visitation will take place outdoors.)
Effective immediately, all other meetings and programs at the church will be offered virtually or be cancelled for the time being. If you have any questions please contact me directly.
The Church Office will remain available to you 9am-1pm, Monday-Thursday, though visitors are discouraged. Please reach out via phone call at 228-896-7597 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your clergy will continue to be available to you by phone, text, email, or individual appointment. Feel free to reach out to me at any time at (228) 731-4085.
Just as we have with each challenge we faced this year, we will persist in faith, hope and love. And together, we will continue on toward the blessing of this Season. Please know that each of you remain in my prayers, and I look forward eagerly to when this moment has passed and we can once again gather together safely. Until then please keep your clergy and leadership in your prayers.
May the grace and peace of Jesus Christ be with us all, and remain with us always.
