Chef Alan's May Update

May is busting out all over! Beautiful weather these days. Our first Fund Raising Dinner and Silent Auction is May 14 at Mac’s Seafood restaurant in Provincetown.  The event should be fun and successful especially since the food and wine is donated by Mac and we have already collected over $500 dollars in gifts for the Silent Auction. Some of the more interesting gifts donated include:

  • Hy-Line Ferry to Martha’s Vineyard
  • Gift Certificate for Alberto’s Restaurant  
  • Gift Certificate for the Black Cat Restaurant
  • Gift Certificate Dinner at the Cape Village
  • Jewelry Necklace
  • Gustare Oil Sampler
  • 3 Mystery Novels by Carol McCleary, Yellow Lighthouse Bookstore      


Another special event will be held on the 26th of July. We are holding a very cool fund raiser benefit at the Hyannis Golf Club on Rt. 132, The event will feature a Cocktail Party with appetizers and wine and another Silent Auction. This special event will be $50 per person for all of the above.

Fundraiser Dinner & Silent Auction at Mac's Seafood - Provincetown May 14

This first event will feature a fabulous 5 course meal, wine and a Silent Auction as well.  Your attendance will help develop culinary job skills and the ability to meet entrepreneurial goals of food makers. You will help us lease a commercial kitchen, plus kitchen equipment, insurance,  and sponsoring culinary workshops for members and the public. As those who have been reading our Newsletters know,  Culinary incubators enable foods to not only be produced but to be marketed and sold publicly on Cape Cod and elsewhere. 
 
The event will be held at Mac’s Seafood in Provincetown @ 85 Shank Painter Rd. Mac is donating this splendid 5 course feast to help our non profit grow our culinary vision for people of all ages.  For only $75 per person you can savor an amazing 5 course Japanese / New England meal serving seafood and savory beef ribs plus the joy of partaking of a fabulous Silent Auction, with wine and dessert.

The Story & Recipe for Dover Sole

Dover Sole is a delicious, nutritious fish that is beginning to be available in East Coast markets. Further it has not been overfished either. The National Marine Fisheries Service which is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA),  tell us that a 3 ounce portion of sole is said to have one of the highest concentrations of Omega 3. This is a very healthy  to eat and is low in mercury.
 
Membership in CCCI is great for foodies, food makers and patrons who wish to support the organization.
