Kicking Off Summer

We are excited to kick off a series of kids cooking classes for the summer. There will be 3 separate classes held on July 24th, August 7th and August 21st. Class sizes are limited and children ages 9-12 must be accompanied by a parent. These are hand-on sessions held at KAM Appliances and led by Chef Linda Davey where the young chefs will learn to mix, measure and cook a meal (and then eat it!).

Coming This Fall

Training for those who want to work in the food services industry. AND help for restaurants who want to hire. We have all heard about the labor shortages and are keenly aware of the problem in the food service industry — so we are going to do something about it.

Funding has been approved.

Restaurant & food service operators, we need your input and will be reaching out to better understand what your needs are and what type of skills you want to hire.

Help Wanted

KAM is hiring a chef. This is a fun, creative opportunity to do in-store and some in-home demonstrations using the latest appliances. For more info, contact KAM

We got an interesting call from a future food maker who wants to learn some skills from a baker. They have an old family recipe they want to start making as a food product and need some help perfecting the recipe before bringing it to market. Interesting challenge. Get in touch if you would like to help.

Wellfleet Oyster Tours

We’ve all heard about the Wellfleet OysterFest, but have you wondered how shellfish are grown and harvested? Wellfleet SPAT offers tours of a working shellfish farm to learn first-hand what is involved in shellfish aquaculture and see various species of shellfish.

Yes, It's Early…

Big Thanksgiving plans are in the works. We have to plan now. We are working on cooking 50 turkeys (and full Thanksgiving meals) for 50 families. You’ll be hearing more in the coming weeks. AND we’d love to have you involved.

Like all organizations, we run on volunteers. Right now, our biggest need is for instructors.  If you’ve taught courses in the food services or culinary arts industry — please contact us.

Thank you.

Board President

Cod Fish: Easy to Cook & Delicious to Eat

Cod Fish is a delicious white fish popular on the Atlantic Coast of the United States. It’s easy to eat because it has layers of flesh next to one another with very few bones getting in your way. In fact, all parts of the Cod are eaten including the head and cheeks and internal organs such as the liver. The smooth meat of the Codfish is beautiful to look at and so very tasty to eat.
