Message From Our Chapter President

Happy New Year!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and ready for a happier and healthier 2021!
 
The new year is often a time for reflections and setting goals.  As I think about the year ahead I am reflecting on our Vancouver Chapter Mission and Goals.

Greater Vancouver Chapter Mission:  We are dedicated to advancing the discipline and profession of change management, while supporting our members in developing individual and organizational change capabilities. 

  • Increase knowledge of change management (CM) 
  • Deepen connections and networks with other CM practitioners
  • Promote value proposition of ACMP Greater Vancouver
  • Establish key partnerships with educational and business partners
  • Maintain and improve Chapter operations 

The ACMP Vancouver Chapter Board strives to align our strategy and plans to our mission and goals.  This year we already have several events planned for our members at all practitioner levels.  These events include the monthly Change Conversation with Change Practitioners series hosted by Lisa Kempton, presentations delivered by several of our advanced practitioners based on topics identified by the Change Leaders forum we had previously hosted, and new member welcome sessions.  In addition to these scheduled events, I am excited and very pleased that we are launching our Mentorship Pilot program this month!  Thank you to Steve Doherty for leading the development of this pilot and for volunteering to be a mentor along with some of our other Advanced Practitioners. We are also offering discounted registration costs for a Lean Change Agent program through our partnership with IdeaLeap and hoping to partner with Prosci to provide a special offer for their Change Management certification.

Mentoring Pilot Program

We are excited about the launch of our mentorship pilot program!

As Brenee Brown says: "You can't get to courage without rumbling with vulnerability".  This is a pilot of the mentorship program. We will be learning together and learning often requires a willingness to be both vulnerable and courageous. Thanks to those of you who have already sent in submissions for the program ahead of the January 15 closing date. We will be reviewing all the submissions after that date and matching our mentors and mentees.

Lean Change Agent Workshop

As a reminder, we are partnering with IdeaLeap Consulting and presenting a Lean Change Agent Workshop learning opportunity.

Lean Change Agent Workshop Overview
Today’s change managers and leaders want to know how to change faster to keep up with a constantly increasing pace of change and disruption. Lean Change Agent is designed to help you take the best ideas from Agile, Lean Startup, Change Management, and Design Thinking to help you create an approach to change that is compatible with your organization, and the change you’re working on.

Course Duration: February 2 – March 9, 2021
Online Sessions: Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (six sessions)
Delivery: This course is conducted online through a flexible combination of self-study and virtual facilitator-led sessions.
