Dear Peter

We are very excited to introduce you to a brand new Jazz Promotion Network initiative, #jazz100, launching the next 100 years of British and Irish jazz.

2017 marks some big jazz anniversaries and centenaries so we are using the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the current scene, look ahead to the next 100 years of jazz and reflect on the journey so far.

Our aim is to unite people working in all areas of jazz, inspire existing fans, and introduce new people to the music, all under the hashtag of #jazz100

We believe that by working together as a sector - musicians, promoters, media, industry organisations, festivals - we can take the reach of UK and Irish jazz to new heights and contribute to a resurgence in the scene.

The Jazz Promotion Network is passionately pursuing all avenues and resources for the campaign, and welcomes collaborations, partnerships and ideas from you all.

The campaign will be launched at Cheltenham Jazz Festival at 4pm on Sunday 30 April 2017 with an industry reception to which you are all invited; the campaign will then continue through 2017 and 2018. Official invitations will be sent in early March, meanwhile is live and counting down to this date.

Click here to read a short document with an overview of the campaign and more details about the plan so farWe welcome your feedback, and specifically would like to know:

Are there gigs with British or Irish Artists you are planning during 2017 and 2018 that you would like us to include in the campaign? We will be focusing on artists that musically define what jazz is today and those who are pushing boundaries to explore the jazz of the future.

Are there special events or commissions that you would like to create as part of the #jazz100 campaign?

Please email with your thoughts.

Here are some members' projects - we look forward to yours!
We look forward to hearing your thoughts,
