April 2020

Hello and welcome to the April edition of our Monthly Leadership Tips for 2020: your 'once a month'  'bite-sized' chunks of practical leadership wisdom!

It almost goes without saying that so much has changed since the last 'Leadership Tips' was sent out! We are now living in what was initially thought to be an 'alternate universe' but one that has quickly become our 'new normal'. We are seeing people facing so many different health and economic challenges, and so many people now leading and working remotely.

This month, we will temporarily pause our monthly Leadership Bite piece, and instead share our updated DiA Tips and HInts guide for more effective remote meetings. We are all upskilling pretty quickly, and with remote meetings becoming the new norm, it is important we practice the basics really well - and deliberately add a focus on connection and clear communication.

This month we share :
  • Our DiA Tips and Hints - for more effective remote meetings
  • A visual and blog link continuing the emphasis on meaningful work - this time highlighting '7 deadly sins' managers need to be careful of, and
  • A link to a DiA Discoveries posts - sharing the 6 factors we have typically seen present in highly effective people leaders
Managing Remote Teams in 2020 - We have also included a link to a new fully-remote 3-hour program organisations can run for small groups of leaders now leading remotely. Click here to find out more and download a course outline.

Found something useful? Why not pay it forward and share a copy with your colleagues! Forward a copy of this email or send this link to join the DiA Monthly Leadership Tips list!

We also use the content we share each month, in the work we do in our consulting practice. Feel free to get in touch to find out more about anything in this newsletter or other blogs on our website.  Enjoy!

6 key factors present in highly effective people leaders

After working with over 650 leaders in the DiA program, and many more in other leadership development and coaching assignments, we have pulled together a list of key factors that all need to be present (to a relatively high degree) if an individual is going to excel at people leadership. The opportunity exists to ask yourself: Where am I at personally in relation to these factors? Which ones need attention?
