Talbot Piping Weekend 2015

7-9 August
* BOOKINGS NOW OPEN *

The Celtic Piping Club is proud to host the 3rd annual Talbot Piping Weekend on 7-9 August 2015.

Held in the tiny town of Talbot "where the gold rush began", the weekend will provide opportunities to get together with other pipers to play, learn and socialise.

The weekend is ideal for players of, or people interested in, the Scottish smallpipes, uilleann pipes, Northumbrian smallpipes or any other form of Celtic pipes. This includes both mouth-blown and bellows-blown instruments. Partners/spouses are also welcome.

The programme will include music and technical workshops, maintenance, meals, socialising and informal playing in a warm and inviting atmosphere. This year's guest is Australian pipe-maker, Bill Hart. Bill will be talking about pipe-making well as giving a presentation and demonstration of various bagpipes from around the world.

Visit our website to check out the full program or to book for this great weekend of piping. Just head to the 'Talbot Piping Weekend 2015' under the Events page.

Bungaree Music Camp

14 - 16 August

The following weekend is the Bungaree Music Camp in the beautiful Clare Valley in South Australia - a new event on the Club calendar. While not a strictly piping event, we are hoping that a contingent of pipers is able attend.

Originally a biennial event, due to popular demand, the Music Camp will now be held annually.

From their website...

This year its all about participation .....That means YOU getting involved. Open to all young and old, its about people coming together to have a good time. More relaxed than a festival & less expensive but just as much fun because you are in it, YOU are what makes it work.

  • Camp-fire sessions and sing-alongs

  • Blackboard Concerts

  • Workshops

  • Special Performances

  • Heritage Trails to walk

  • Children Youth and all music beginners welcome

  • Set in a picturesque location oozing charm & history

  • Only 2hrs drive North of Adelaide

It's sure to be a fantastic experience. Head over to the HATs Inc. website for more details. If you are thinking of joining in this year, let us know (by email) so we can co-ordinate the piping contingent.

New uilleann piping CD 'Australian Waters'

Melbourne-based uilleann piper & multi-instrumentalist, Matt Horsley will be recording his first uilleann piping album in August. But he needs your help to make it happen. If you'd be interested in pre-ordering a copy, head over to Matt's Pozible campaign.
