Well, we've done it. The all-new Celtic Piping Club has been officially launched!
Thank you to all the fantastic pipers and other musicians who performed at the Celtic Piping Concert & Club Launch at the National Celtic Festival at Portarlington (Victoria) during the long weekend in June. It was amazing to see such a great variety of Celtic pipes being showcased by talented musicians. The audience were spellbound for the whole concert and the response to the 'Come & Try' session after the concert was overwhelming :)
What is the collective noun for bagpipes?
Now for some more exciting news...bookings are now open for the Talbot Piping Weekend on 2-4 August.
Held in the tiny town of Talbot "where the gold rush began", the weekend will provide opportunities to get together with other pipers and share tunes, ideas, tips and laughs.
The weekend will be ideal for players of, or people interested in, the Scottish smallpipes, Uilleann pipes, Northumbrian smallpipes or any other form of Celtic pipes. This includes both mouth-blown and bellows-blown instruments. Partners/spouses are also welcome.
The programme will include music workshops, maintenance, meals, socialising, informal playing and a very special concert.
