International Uilleann Piping Day

Saturday 18 October 2014

The forth annual International Uilleann Piping Day, a global celebration of the uniquely Irish uilleann pipes, takes place on Saturday 18 October.

Na Piobairi Uilleann (NPU), the Dublin-based international pipers club, is the primary organiser. Piping recitals, exhibitions, on-line broadcasts and discussions explaining the instrument and how it is made will take place across different time zones in over 40 locations around the world. Some events are even broadcast live on NPU-TV.

Those interested in learning more about the uilleann pipes can attend an activity in your locality or tune into activities through the Facebook site http://www.facebook.com/uilleannpipingday set up specifically for this event.
