Chris Norman & David Greenberg
Boxwood Festival Australia

This week, Chris Norman and David Greenberg of Nova Scotia visit Victoria! Hear these two superb musicians go back and explore the historic roots of Scottish and Irish traditional music from the 18th century and before. A great program including toe-tapping strathspeys and reels from Cape Breton, beautiful melodies composed in the manors of Ireland and wild traveller music from the Scottish borders, including pieces out of the Dixon manuscript from Matt Seattle's 'Nine Notes that Shook the World'. This is a rare and privileged chance to hear the Scottish smallpipes as well as the flute and violin performed by true world-class artists.

Chris NORMAN – traditional & early flutes, small pipes, song
David GREENBERG – Cape Breton fiddle, Baroque violin

Chris Norman is an internationally-loved performer, composer, recording artist, flute maker and scholar in traditional and contemporary trad. flute. David Greenberg leads a double life as a Cape Breton fiddler and baroque violinist, having played with Tafelmusik and Red Priest across the world.

As a duo, they play old and new tunes from the highlands and lowlands of Scotland, Ireland and Canada's Maritime provinces. Their performances are beautiful, spirited and intense.

The Celtic Piping Club is proud to support Chris and David's concerts and workshops in Melbourne, Warrnambool and Queenscliff. For all smallpipers, whistle players, flautists and fiddlers, these opportunities are not to be missed. Details of these events are found below.
