Trioc & Duck Duck Goose
Acoustic Concert Mini-Tour

Sat 30 Apr, Sun 1 May & Sun 7 May

Traditional Irish trio Trioc and double-reed duo Duck Duck Goose are coming together to present an intimate mini-tour of Central Victoria's Goldfields - including Chewton, Bendigo & Maldon. Head out into the autumnal twilight and join them for beautiful music and supper!

TRIOC is a recently-formed collective of young instrumentalists performing Irish traditional music, with Matthew Horsley on uilleann pipes, Cameron Hibbs on fiddle and Allan Evans on harp. Their repertoire includes traditional Irish jigs, reels, hornpipes and slow airs in inventive and sensitive arrangements. Trioc’s sound is at once earthy and ethereal, reflecting the band members’ respect for the torch-bearers of the Irish musical tradition as well as their own unique musical vision.

Founded whilst busking on the streets of Maldon, DUCK DUCK GOOSE are a duo blending the unique timbres of the oboe and the Scottish smallpipes, plus strains of fiddle and English concertina. At home amongst the reeds, their music explores the moods and modes of northern Europe - traditional melodies gathered in from fields of Northumberland, border towns of Scotland, villages of Brittany and barns of Scandinavia. Featuring Sarah Wade on Scottish small pipes and English concertina, and Jessica Foot on oboe and fiddle.

Duck Duck Goose - EP Launch

Sunday 15 May
Once upon a time ... on the street during the Maldon Folk Festival, Sarah Wade (Scottish small pipes) and Jess Foot (oboe) did some busking, to blend their strange sounds and see how double-double-reed would go down. Intrigued by the unusual combination and elated by their shared love of rustic melodies, they felt like they’d flown home. One and a half years later Duck Duck Goose are ready to spread their wings and leave the nest with their brand new self-titled EP!
