IUPD & Piping Session
International Uillean Piping Day report
Saturday 19 October
Here's a report from one of the local (Aussie) International Uilleann Piping Day (IUPD) events. Please send us any more stories from around the country...we'd love to hear from you!
"Saturday 19 October was International Uilleann Piping Day, a worldwide celebration of the uilleann pipes with almost 40 events happening worldwide. Here in Victoria, over 25 people gathered at Richmond Uniting Church including seven uilleann pipers (and a couple of interlopers on Scottish smallpipes).
Matthew Horsley, Andrew Teusner and Liam O'Mara gave short performances followed by a pipers' session and a chance for non-pipers to have a go at playing the pipes. It was challenging piping weather at a very dry 30ºC but a very successful day nevertheless." - Matt Horsley

Piping Session @ Beechworth
Saturday 9 November
Only a few more days to go until we host a piping session at the Beechworth Celtic Festival.
The Celtic piping session will be at Hotel Nicholas at 3.30pm on Saturday 9 November. The session will follow the slow session hosted by the Likely Celts. (Keep an ear out for Merran on the smallpipes!)
We look forward to playing some tunes with you over the weekend. See you at the Festival!
Your friends in piping,
The Celtic Piping Club team
