Sing the Bounty Eclectic With OLY ARTS!

As we predicted, 1984 is playing to full houses in its continuing run at The Midnight Sun Performance Space, and kids of all ages are diving down the rabbit hole with Olympia Family Theater's "curiouser and curiouser" take on Alice in Wonderland. Understated acting graces director Jim Patrick's production of The Trip to Bountiful, ongoing at Olympia Little Theatre. Meanwhile, enjoy the tropical flavors of Lu'au 2017 at Saint Martin's University in Lacey on Saturday. This OLY ARTS newsletter is your cultural digest for Thurston County, March 30 -  April 4.

Harlequin Productions


Harlequin Productions will pull back the curtain on its seven productions coming to the State Theater in 2017. Directors and staff will provide a description of each show and why they’re worth doing, and some of your favorite actors will be on hand to share snippets of the plays. Harlequin promises a jolly good time. Not only will you get a taste of each production, you’ll also enjoy a delectable dinner, luscious libations and captivating camaraderie with Harlequin’s staff and high-class audience members. And don’t forget the prizes–There’s something fun for everyone. Don’t miss the grand unveiling of Harlequin’s 2018 season.

Rock Candy Burlesque presents Icing on the Cake: Five Years of Foolin’ Around! Join us on April Fool’s Day to celebrate our fifth birthday! The Esoterics

Intimas: Cultivating Intimacy

That's the title of a concert which Eric Banks of the honored Seattle choral group, The Esoterics, will conduct as part of the concert series at St. John’s Episcopal Church. It includes the West Coast premiere of “Messages to Myself” by Christopher Theofanidis (featuring musical settings to verses by Amy Beth Kirsten, Rumi, Walt Whitman and William Butler Yeats) and a reprise of “The Wheel of Time, the Dance” by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Aaron Jay Kernis. Concluding the program will be Banks’s choral symphony, “This Delicate Universe,” which sets poems by Cavafy and Goeth. Admission to the concert is by donation as able, with a suggested level of $20 general and $10 seniors.
