OLY ARTS: Summer Edition Available Now!


If you attended Capital Lakefair, you met the OLY ARTS "street team" of smiling distributors. They greeted visitors with hot-off-the-press copies of our debut summer print edition! If you steered clear of Lakefair, you still have plenty of chances to meet us in person this summer, starting with Music in the Park.

In Olympia, every Wednesday, you can set out picnic blankets and enjoy free, live entertainment at Music in the Park with little more than a dab of sunscreen. Here's our overview of Music in the Park. Next week's band is featured below.

Swing 49
at Music in the Park


Next week the gypsy-jazz band Swing 49 performs for Olympia's Music in the Park. Self-described as offering soulful vocal jazz, virtuosic guitar solos and funky horn lines, Swing 49 is Jacqueline Schafer, vocals; Tovi Newman, guitar; Forest Wilson, guitar; Logan Bean, trumpet and Joe Eunice, bass. Calling Olympia home, they recently played at Ben Moore’s and Pizzeria La Gitana.

The band’s latest album, The Devil Club Blues, was released in April.

Music in the Park is an outdoor event: bring food, non-alchoholic beverages, and blankets or folding chairs.

This summer Olympia will host a number of authors and writers. These events are free, and entertaining for readers of all ages.

The Brown Edition and The Eclectics


Offering a finely woven blend of vocal and instrumental grooves, The Brown Edition is an instantly appealing and technically complex funk ensemble.
