A life cut short but one well lived.

To our dear friends in the sprout community,
It is with deep sadness that we write to share the life-shattering news that our father, Steve Meyerowitz, died in an automobile accident on the evening of September 9, 2015. Our hearts ache for everyone who has been affected by this terrible event.

Sproutman (c. 1976) leading a sprouting class in his Riverside Drive, New York City apartment; where it all began.

Our father was our inspiration. He was our light. As Sproutman, he was a magnetic speaker and personality. He was a pioneer in the sprouting and wellness community. He was a health nut, an author, an entrepreneur, and much more. He had a confidence in what he was doing that was so natural he must have been born with it.

We'll miss you, Sproutman. (And your raw, vegan, sprouted pizzas.)

He leaves us with memories that will keep sprouting all through our lives, and like sprouts, those memories are incredibly potent. Many questions, existential and otherwise, surface after any death, but in this case, we see only a life so healthy and vibrant, so happy, so full of laughter, and so without regret, that we can only smile and say "Thanks Dad." If you have any memories that you'd like to share of the Sproutman – you can leave them here

We will be writing to you soon with happier news. Our father left a legacy that is still growing. Many new products and ideas have yet to be released, so stay tuned.

Until then, Be Sproutful! (...and pass the message on)
