Some people who are very special to us are coming to Tolt in November! First up is Karen Templer of Fringe Association. Karen is a long-time graphic designer and producer of websites, books and even a magazine, and is a very successful blogger – and an avid knitter, too! Karen will be here on Thursday, November 13 during our Community Knit Night from 6pm to 8pm and she will be offering a Q&A about starting an online business and creating a successful blog. Learn more about Karen and Fringe Association here:
Saturday, November 15 is going to be a day for the history books! It is our One-Year Anniversary and we'll have raffles and door prizes throughout the day. Our first 50 customers will get a gift with purchase, and... drum roll, please...

Gudrun Johnston will be here to sign her new book, Shetland Trader, Book Two! Book signing will be from 10am to Noon and then Gudrun will be presenting on the traditions of lace knitting and will give us a brief history and overview of Shetland from 1pm to 3pm. No registration is necessary and this presentation is being offered free of charge!

Gudrun is an internationally-renowned knitwear designer who
often includes aspects of her Shetland heritage in her designs, mostly utilizing traditional lace patterns in a contemporary context. She also loves to design using seamless construction methods and is always adding new methods to her seamless knitting skills. Gudrun will be teaching Shetland Lace on Sunday, November 16 and that class is already full, but feel free to call us to be added to the wait list. You never know... you might get lucky!
Alexa Ludeman, from Tin Can Knits, will be here on Saturday, November 22 with a trunk show of items featured in her new book, Road Trip. Alexa will be signing her book from Noon to 1pm and then will be offering a class teaching her POP Blanket technique from 2pm to 5pm. You can learn more about the POP Blanket here. Call the shop to register. The class is being offered for $65.
On Saturday, November 29, we're thrilled to have a visit with Cirilia Rose, who will share with us a behind the scenes view of what went into creating her new book, Magpies, Homebodies, and Nomads. Cirilia teaches unique knitting techniques and is a very talented knitwear designer. She is inspired by her travels, cultural history, modern media and technology. We are really looking forward to spending time with Cirilia and celebrating the release of her new book! Please join us Saturday, November 29 from 1pm to 3pm. No registration is necessary for this free presentation, but come by early to pick up Cirilia's book and get a front row seat!
