9th TCI Latin American Conference: register now and submit your contribution before 8 April

“Competitiveness, clusters and smart specialization”

The program of the 9CLAC will show cluster development policy experiences and smart specialization strategies, processes linked to territorial development and governance. A unique opportunity to approach the Latin American and global debate on how to improve the competitiveness of our clusters and regions, and to make connections with relevant public, private and academic actors.



TCI 2016: Registrations and call for papers now open!

Register now and share your expertise either through the General or Academic Track. Discussions will focus on four themes of global relevance: Cities and competitiveness, Modern cluster policy, Managing learning networks, and Food clusters. Deadline for submission of proposals is 31 May.

TCI 2016 Conference: an impulse for Dutch cluster policy?

The TCI 2016 organizing partners share their view on the development of Dutch cluster policy and the impact the TCI Global Conference might have on cluster development in the country. As it is the case in many host regions of the TCI Global Conference, the event is a good opportunity to review and discuss cluster policies helping to improve economic development.

Good response to TCI Cluster Evaluation Group's call

TCI members from Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the U.K. have all showed their interest in participating and hence taking forward the work of the group. The workshop will focus on validating a cluster framwork, good practice principles and a cluster evaluation survey.

European-Asian cluster matchmaking event opportunity for ICT clusters. Submit interest before 1 April

An ICT-focused cluster matchmaking event will take place during the “European Innovation Week” in Taipei (Taiwan) from 30 May to 1 June 2016. The Call for Expression of Interest is launched to identify a European delegation composed of representatives from cluster organisations and business networks focused in the ICT field.


Master's Degree in Competitiveness and Innovation


TCI member Orkestra-Basque Institute of Competitiveness is working closely with Deusto Business School in running their Master's Degree in Competitiveness and Innovation, led by TCI Board member James Wilson. It is a full-time one-year academic course in Donostia-San Sebastian (Basque Country-Spain), starting in September and taught in English .

New selection of academic articles on clusters

This month's selection includes different aspects of cluster based economic development with an article on Creativity, Clusters and the Competitive Advantage of Cities by  R. Martin, R. Florida, M. Pogue, and C. Mellander, for example.
