Splinter Reeds will wrap up our debut season next week at the Trinity Chamber Concerts in Berkeley! We are deeply grateful to everyone who has attended one or more of our concerts this year and are so inspired by your enthusiasm for our new group. In one year, we've been able to share our passion for contemporary chamber music (and vibrant, reedy sonorities) with audiences throughout the Bay Area. Our 2014-15 season is shaping up with even more commissioning projects and new music events that we're thrilled to share with you. As our debut season winds down, please consider making a contribution to Splinter Reeds to help us move confidently into the future. Your contributions enable us to continue presenting adventurous new music for reed quintet and build a vibrant audience for contemporary chamber music.

Season Finale Concert - Trinity Chamber Concerts
On Saturday June 7th, we will be presenting our last concert of the season as part of the Trinity Chamber Concerts series in Berkeley. Staying true to our commitment of new music, our concert will feature several premieres and premiere arrangements by both emerging and well-known composers including David Lang, Dai Fujikura, Matthew Shlomowitz, Peter V. Swendsen, Ryan Brown, Corey Dundee, and Erik DeLuca. We hope that you will join us for our final concert of the season!

Lastly, we thrilled to announce that Splinter Reeds has been selected to receive the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music's 2014 Musical Grant Award! This award will fund a new commission by Bay Area composer, Aaron Novik, to write a new work for reed quintet that we will premiere next season.

Stay tuned for more updates and concert announcements for the 2014-15 season!
Sincerely,
Kyle, Dana, David, Bill and Jeff
