This Summer at New Hope: BBQ, Beach, & Changed Lives!

A New Hope Story:
From Zero English to U.S. Citizenship

When Juan began New Hope's ESL program, he didn't know any English, but he worked hard in the course and continued to progress to other levels. At one of New Hope's immigration seminars, he learned more about U.S. citizenship and decided to make it a personal goal. With the English he learned at ESL and an immense amount of study, he became an American citizen! Juan told us that only 10% of the people taking the citizenship test along with him that day passed because they didn't speak English. New Hope's ESL class helped change his life!

Women of Hope's 3rd Annual BBQ !

In June, Women of Hope hosted their 3rd Annual BBQ in Hofstra Park! More than 200 people came. Volunteers provided picnic foods, games, face-painting, balloon animals, cotton candy, and more. It was a great community event! Our thanks to everyone who contributed in making this event a fun success!!
